ABOUT

Beehive Under Five’s is a pre-school group for children aged 2 - 5 years, we are dedicated to providing your child with the best possible early learning experience and making it fun! Our aim is to help every child to gain his/her first taste of independence and social awareness in a happy, caring and stimulating environment. Every session is carefully planned to include as many areas of learning and experience as possible, but also giving the children the opportunity to tailor their own learning journey. Our aim is for the children to develop enquiring minds, be independent and confident, set their own challenges, and make decisions. Beehives Under Five’s is run by paid staff for the benefit of parents and children. Parents/carers are made very welcome at Beehives and their suggestions and support are very valuable to the work we do, however they are not required to serve on any Committee but can participate actively in fund-raising activities or volunteer to help cover staff training and sickness if they wish to do so.

HISTORY

Beehives started as Salcombe nursery in 1984 and was run from the old infant school in Courtenay St. It was later taken on by a group of parents who used the rugby club hall until our permanent home of the young center was secured in 1986, the name was changed to Beehives and the rest is history!
